The storms that swept through Central Texas and the Hill Country this Fourth of July weekend left deep scars—families grieving loved ones, neighbors looking for the missing, and communities facing a long road of rebuilding. Governor Greg Abbott has called Sunday, July 6, 2025, a statewide Day of Prayer so we can lift one another before the Lord.
Here at KSBJ, we care deeply for the families. We’ve seen time and again how Texans show up with strength and compassion in times of crisis. And we believe in the power of prayer to bring healing, hope, and peace—especially now. Let’s come together and lift up those hurting across our state.
Scripture to Anchor Our Hearts
-
Psalm 46:1‑2“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear…”
-
Isaiah 41:10Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. -
Psalm 23:2‑3“He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.”
These promises are like a steady hand on our back—encouraging us to keep moving forward even in uncertain times.
This powerful song reminds us that God’s love drives out fear. Let it fuel your prayers for rescue workers, volunteers, and every person facing loss right now.
Just like Psalm 23, this song brings calm to chaos. Turn it on and let God quiet your heart as you pray for those who need peace today.
How We Can Pray
- For Families and the Missing
‑ Ask God to comfort those who’ve lost loved ones and to guide search teams to the missing. - For Frontline Heroes
‑ Pray for strength, wisdom, and protection over the first responders and rescue workers. - For Rebuilding and Provision
‑ Lift up the families who have lost homes, jobs, or businesses—that help would come quickly and generously. - For Hearts to Turn to Jesus
‑ Believe that even in devastation, God is drawing hearts close to Him and bringing revival.
Little Acts, Big Impact
- Check on a neighbor or friend in affected areas. A small gesture can mean the world.
- Give or volunteer with trusted relief organizations like God’s Pit Crew. We have the link for you to donate here: How to Help God's Pit Crew
- Share truth and encouragement on your socials—God’s Word and worship songs bring light into dark moments.
We’re In This Together
Governor Abbott said it well:
“Throughout our history, Texans have been strengthened, assured, and lifted up through prayer.”
If you need prayer, we’re here. You can submit a request on our KSBJ Prayer Wall or call 281-652-5555.
You are not alone. We’re praying with you and for you. Let’s be a light in this moment, bringing hope rising over Texas, together.
